SMART Methods

empty
Unlike many methodologies, it is not a high level, generic methodology used to implement any type of solution. SMART Methods makes the assumption that the technology choice has either been confirmed or is being validated. It has also been designed to support ‘out of the box’ solutions that are biased towards configuration rather than customization to meet client requirements. This enables a fast and efficient ‘Solution Design and Planning’ phase to be undertaken that defines the solution architecture, work effort and cost to proceed.

Currently, SMART Methods supports two product lines:

  • SMART Methods for BMC Remedy ITSM
  • SMART Methods for OS3

SMART: Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant
and Timely

The implemented solution must be

  • Specific to the business requirements
  • Measurable to stated targets for Success Criteria
  • Achievable to agreed Requirements and Targets
  • Relevant to current industry Standards and Best Practices
  • Timely to meet agreed business goals

The SMART framework consists of:

  • Project management
  • Service delivery methodology
  • Financial models, document templates & various tools
  • Industry Best Practice and Standards
  • SMI Telecoms’ 20 years of past experiences
